We ask for a minimum of an NVQ Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy, with additional training needed to offer branded treatments. Only qualified beauty therapists can offer nails, facials, waxing, lashes and brow treatments with us.

Massage

To offer massages on Urban, therapists need to have a minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification. For specialist treatments including deep tissue, sports massage, injury/pain management, Thai massage, lymphatic drainage and pregnancy massages, therapists must show us additional qualifications or CPD certification.

For facials, you’ll need:

- About 2x3m of floor space for the table (about the size of a yoga mat with enough space to walk around the edge).

• Two large towels, plus one small towel for the headrest

• Access to water

• - Clean skin with no makeup on

For nail treatments, you’ll need:

- A stable support to sit at with good lighting
- A medium-sized towel to dry your hands during the treatment
- A plug socket available nearby for the curing lamp
-Access to water

For hair removal, you’ll need:

- About 2x3m of floor space for the table, that’s about the size of a yoga mat with enough space to walk around the edge

For brow and lash treatments, you’ll need:

- Some lash experts will bring a treatment table (which you’ll need 2x3m of floor space for), others will simply ask you to lie down somewhere comfortable
- A space that’s well-lit

Yes, all mobile therapists on Urban have to show they meet our high standards of hygiene by taking a number of assessments before joining. We also check they have clean, spa/clinic-grade equipment, complete with single-use items and cleaning products relevant to each service they offer.

We currently only offer Urban beauty services across central and Greater London. Our massage services can be found across major cities in the UK, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Coventry, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
