Our recommendation

“Almost everyone – young and old, and those recovering from surgery – can benefit from a reflexology treatment,” says lead therapist Nadège.

"The philosophy behind reflexology is that specific areas on the hands and feet correspond to the rest of the body. Applying pressure to these areas restores balance within the body and relieve stress."

During your treatment

Your therapist will begin with a health assessment covering your medical history and any current conditions.

They'll make sure you're comfortable on a chair or a massage table (which they can choose to bring with them) before cleansing your feet and using a wax or oil to perform the massage.

More info on reflexology foot massage

Reflexology massage is a powerful way to relieve anxiety and stress. The theory behind it is that different zones on the underside of the feet relate to other parts of the body. By stimulating these zones, it’s said that conditions like migraines, constipation, sciatica, back pain and fatigue may also be eased.

Not quite. Reflexology is a manual treatment performed with hands rather than acupuncture needles, and it mostly targets the hands and feet, not specific pain points on the body.

Reflexology is a safe treatment to book if you’re pregnant, but check your therapist’s bio to make sure they offer reflexology for pregnancy before you book. Otherwise, try our specialist pregnancy treatment.

To keep you and your therapist safe, it’s important to hold off on getting a massage if you’re unwell with a fever or flu-like symptoms, or if you have a contagious skin disease. Therapists have the right to cancel your treatment if they think it will harm you or them in any way.

If you have a health condition and you’re not sure about booking a massage, consult your GP for advice beforehand.
