Benefits of energising massage

  • A boost in circulation to help oxygen flow to the brain

  • An awakened body and mind

  • Looser, less tense muscles to keep you feeling limber throughout the day

Our recommendation

A massage to give you energy? Doesn’t quite sound right, does it?

But this treatment uses techniques to get you feeling refreshed and alert.

“This massage is designed to boost your blood flow and awaken your mind and body using a mix of fast-paced, vigorous techniques,” says lead therapist Nadége. “It's perfect if you want to up your energy levels without sleep or coffee.”

During your treatment

Our energising massage uses lots of tapotement techniques – rapid rhythmic tapping and pounding.

These are mixed in with effleurage (long strokes) and kneading to get your blood pumping and oxygen flowing.

Expect to finish feeling awakened and ready to take on the day. Ideal after or before a long flight.

More info on massage for energy

The movements and pressure of a massage help boost your circulation, in turn sending more oxygen to your brain and body helping you feel more awake and less sluggish.

An energising massage might give you a temporary boost in energy, but you’re best off seeing a doctor if you think you might have a medical condition, like chronic or adrenal fatigue.

Relaxing massages can make you feel tired by calming your nervous system and lowering your adrenaline levels. Energising massages are also calming, but they energise you by stimulating your sympathetic nervous system. The result: you’re less stressed, but more alert and focused.

In an energising massage, therapists use a combination of percussive motions called tapotements, deep kneading (called petrissage) and more vigorous motions to get your blood circulating.

No, the techniques aren't suitable if you're pregnancy. Try booking our specialist pregnancy massage instead.

Don't book if you’re unwell with a fever or flu-like symptoms, or if you have a contagious skin disease. Therapists have the right to cancel your treatment if they think it will harm you or them in any way.

If you have a health condition and you’re not sure about booking a massage, consult your GP for advice beforehand.
