At-home physiotherapy FAQs
Physiotherapy is a holistic approach treatment that can help someone's movement and function after an injury, illness or disability. It'll also help with preventing injuries in the future.
Some, but not all, physio sessions are active treatments with lots of moving around, so you’re best off wearing light, breathable clothing - a t-shirt and leggings or shorts is fine.
Physiotherapy can help with a number of musculoskeletal conditions, from injuries, like a torn achilles’ tendon or sprain, to problems linked to past and ongoing health conditions, like fibromyalgia, and arthritis.
Simply head to the Urban app to book your physiotherapy session. Once you've entered your address, you'll be able to select a nearby pro who's available at the time you prefer.
If this is your first appointment, your session will begin with an assessment of your physical condition, including tests on the strength and range of motion of problem areas.
Consultations and follow-ups also include some manual treatment. You can expect things like stretching, manipulation of joints and some light exercises, but this will be completely tailored to what your body needs. Your therapist might also include other treatments, like kinesiology taping or dry needling.
Of course! Simply search for their name when you go to choose a practitioner.
A private physiotherapy session in London costs £86 on Urban.
This will depend on your individual plan, but you should be able to claim back for treatments.
If you require an invoice for insurance purposes, you contact us and we'll send you a PDF invoice via email. You should receive a receipt automatically after your booking has taken place to the email address on the account you booked with.
Receipts and invoices are issued from Urban Massage on behalf of your practitioner. The invoice must be under the name of the person who received the treatment. We also ask that you allow 1-3 business days for your invoice to be generated.
This is different for everyone. Your physio will map out a plan for your recovery, with a suggested number of consultations over a longer period.
Yes, but only after your first trimester and only with an Urban physio who specialises in womens’ health – check your physio’s bio to see their specialisations.
