FAQs

FAQs about Urban physiotherapy treatments

If it’s your first physio session, your pro will begin with an assessment of your physical condition, including tests on the strength and range of motion of problem areas.

Consultations and follow-ups also include some manual treatment. You can expect things like stretching, manipulation of joints and some light exercises, but this will be completely tailored to what your body needs. Your therapist might also include other treatments, like kinesiology taping or dry needling.

For the treatment table / plinth (that your therapist will bring) you’ll need about 2x3m of floor space. That’s about the size of a yoga mat, with enough space to walk around the edge.

Yes, you'll need to supply towels to cover the treatment table and yourself. We recommend two large towels (or old sheets) and a smaller one for the headrest.

Osteopathy and physiotherapy may overlap, but there are differences – think of it as "prehab vs. rehab." Osteopathy is the best choice for when you have fair to moderate pain. Physiotherapy is a better choice after an injury or illness for professional guidance on rebuilding strength and mobility.

Yep! To book regular appointments with the same physiotherapist, you can simply search for their name when selecting a practitioner. You can also favourite your pro to make it easy to rebook them next time.

Some, but not all, physio sessions are active treatments with lots of moving around, so you’re best off wearing light, breathable clothing - a t-shirt and leggings or shorts is fine. Just make sure you’re comfortable.
