Hormonal changes in pregnancy can lead to all sorts of unexpected skin surprises, from acne to hyperpigmentation. This gentle treatment combines hands-on expertise with pregnancy-safe products to target your concerns, leaving you with a healthy glow.
It’s suitable at any stage of pregnancy, including your first trimester.
Your treatment will begin with a quick consultation to understand your skin concerns*. Depending on your stage of pregnancy, you’ll be invited to sit or lie in a position that’s comfortable and safe.
Your skin expert will then perform a series of gentle steps to rebalance, hydrate and massage your skin, leaving it dewy and plump. They’ll use salon-grade, dermatologist-approved products that are safe for use in pregnancy – browse individual therapist bios to discover which brands they carry.
*Please note Urban skin experts are unable to treat melasma.
If you have open wounds or lesions on your face, neck or chest, then we’d suggest that you wait until they’ve healed before booking your facial.
Combine your facial with a prenatal massage (suitable from week 13 of pregnancy).

A pregnancy-safe facial is always the best option. Your beauty pro will specifically adapt the treatment to avoid ingredients, techniques and pressure points that aren’t recommended during pregnancy.
They'll focus on gentle cleansing, hydration and soothing the skin to help tackle common pregnancy concerns like sensitivity, dryness or hormonal breakouts.
They'll already know if you book a pregnancy-specific treatment, but it's always best to double check at the beginning on your treatment – even if you’re early in your pregnancy.
This helps them adjust products, techniques and positioning to keep you comfortable and safe throughout the treatment.
All you need to do is prep:
About 2x3m of floor space for the table (about the size of a yoga mat with enough space to walk around the edge)
Two large towels, plus one small towel for the headrest
Access to water
Clean skin with no makeup on
Our hydrating facial is 70 minutes long, including 10 minutes for set up. So you can expect the facial itself to last 60 minutes.
In early pregnancy, lying on your back is usually comfortable for short periods. Later on, you might prefer to be slightly propped up or supported on your side.
Your therapist will adjust your positioning to make sure you’re comfortable throughout – just let them know how you’re feeling at any point.
