The best street food markets in London
If you want to sample a selection of London’s best dishes in a short space of time, try paying a visit to some of the city’s many street food markets. Filled with delicacies from nearby restaurants, local collectives and food trucks, you can enjoy gourmet ingredients and fresh produce on the go everywhere from Borough to Broadway. There are a plethora of markets in the capital to choose from, but we’ve rounded up our five favourites here.
Leather Lane Market
Every weekday vans and stalls litter this central London street, and come noon workers from the nearby offices descend on the fresh street food in search of an inspiring lunch. What they find are traditional Mexican burritos, gourmet pies and artisanal cheese toasties.

Greenwich Market
Situated inside a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is probably the prettiest food market in all of London. It also has one of the city’s most varied selection of stalls. You can find classic Ethiopian dishes alongside handmade Brazilian churros and traditional Cuban sandwiches here.

Broadway Market
With over 150 stalls, this East London street food market is the place to visit if you want some weekend indulgence. From decadent lobster rolls to fried chicken sandwiches and classic aged beef burgers, there is plenty of local produce to satisfy your junk food cravings.

Flat Iron Square
Under the railway arches of London’s Bankside you’ll find one of the capital’s newest street markets. There are seven food vendors and four street food trucks here, all serving up some of the city’s tastiest snacks. Expect everything from handmade pittas packed with spicy meats to award-winning ramen and Thai food.

Borough Market
London’s most famous food market, this is where you’ll find the city’s latest food trends first. There are always new stalls to discover but some have gained such cult status so you can guarantee queues every time. Grab a plate here or pick up some fresh local ingredients to take home and cook yourself.
