A gel manicure usually lasts between two to three weeks, depending on how fast your nails grow and how well you care for them. Gel polish is highly durable, meaning you can enjoy chip-free, glossy nails for longer than a standard manicure. To maintain the best results, avoid using your nails as tools and keep them hydrated with cuticle oil.

Yes! While gel manicures typically use single colours, you can opt for French tips or nail art for an additional charge. If you’re looking for something more customised, like French tips (which are an extra £14) or intricate gel nail art (£23), check your pro's bio to see if they offer it.

It’s best to give your nails time to breathe and re-strengthen after you remove any gel polish. We recommend going polish-free for a week before booking another.

Yes, but take care that you don’t have any cuts, infections or lesions around your nails before booking.

Yes, this treatment is pregnancy-safe.

Urban beauty pros only use premium gel polish brands, such as O.P.I., CND Shellac, Gelish and The Gel Bottle, ensuring a high-quality finish that lasts. If you have a preferred brand, check your pro's bio before booking. You can also message them directly via the Urban app after booking.

No, your nail technician will bring everything required, including the gel polish, tools and a UV lamp. All you need is a comfortable place to sit, a flat surface for the technician to set up and access to a plug socket for the lamp. If you've added a nail polish soak-off, they’ll also bring the necessary removal tools.

If you already have gel polish on your nails, you'll need a gel soak-off treatment to professionally remove it. Never try to peel or chip away gel polish yourself, as this can damage your nails. You can easily add the soak-off to your booking to ensure a safe and effective removal.

It's probably not the treatment for you if:

  • You're after something for your toes that'll last extra long – a gel mani/pedi might be more your speed.

  • You’ve got any cuts, nail infections or lesions on your fingers or around your nails.

  • Athletes foot or a contagious skin disease.
