Your pro will start with a quick rundown of the treatment before making sure you’re comfortable and prepping your skin. They’ll apply hot wax to your intimate area (front and back) in sections, removing it in quick, clean motions to minimise discomfort. They’ll finish by applying a post-wax lotion to soothe and calm your skin.
Some therapists carry a treatment table with them and they’ll need at least 2x2m of floor space to set it up. Others prefer to set up using the furniture in your home. Check your therapist's bio when booking to find a pro that matches your preferences.

More about men's intimate hair removal
Intimate waxing involves removing hair from the groin area — this can include just the surrounding pubic area to full removal.
For best results, leave your hair around 6–8 mm (about the length of a grain of rice) — too short and the wax won’t grip it; too long can make it more uncomfortable. Trimming a little beforehand is fine.
You’ll feel a sharp tug, especially if it's your first time, but most people find it manageable, and it often gets easier over subsequent sessions as the hair grows back softer and sparser.
Waxing removes hair from the root, so most guys stay smooth for 2-4 weeks before regrowth becomes noticeable. With regular waxing, hair can grow back slower and finer.
Clean the area with warm water, make sure the hair is at the right length and — if possible — gently exfoliate a day or two before to help prevent ingrown hairs.
After waxing, keep the area clean, dry and cool for at least 24 hours. Avoid hot showers, tight underwear and heavy exercise right after — this helps reduce irritation and redness. Gentle moisturiser or aloe gel can help soothe skin.
