In December, we gave 10 Urban pros a secret mission: make a client’s day with a ‘Golden Ticket’, giving them £50 off their next treatment.

In honour of Random Acts of Kindness Day, we're sharing the story of one lucky winner, Penny and her massage therapist, Rozalia.

Massage therapist Rozalia

“I chose Penny as I find her very inspirational”

Massage therapist Rozalia was inspired to treat her client Penny, who’s given us permission to share her story.

“As massage therapists, we learn what our clients are going through and that connection is one of the special parts of the job,” she says.

“A year ago, Penny faced a medical issue that left her unable to walk. Determined and resilient, she tirelessly sought help until the issue was identified and treated. Fast forward to today, and not only is she walking again, but she has grabbed life with so much enthusiasm, attending the gym daily and even joining a choir.”

“I think we can all learn from her attitude to life.”

“I couldn’t imagine going through all of this in such a short time, but still never giving up and doing all I can to feel better. Penny’s a very lovely person and I think we can all learn from her attitude to life.”

Penny Urban client

“I'm a big believer in kindness, random or not.”

“The Golden Ticket was wonderful,” says Penny. “I used it to have a mani pedi & eyebrow tint with Tracy. “I’m looking forward to another massage with Rozalia when I’ve recovered fully from my latest surgery.”

“Dealing with challenges becomes easier as you get older.  You have the memory of how you dealt with things in the past, you remember where you went wrong in the past.  Here is a poem that sums it up.

“I'm a big believer in kindness, random or not.  We tend to focus on the recipient, but the truth is that giving to and helping others makes us all feel better.”
