THE STORY

Urban Veda is inspired by the ancient Indian principles of Ayurveda, and first launched in October 2013. Since then, Urban Veda has won over 30 industry awards and is now available in many countries across the world.

The brand was created to ‘pollution-proof’ skin and protect it from the negative effects of free radicals, leaving is less vulnerable to environmental factors, dehydration, dullness and stress. Each product is lovingly made in the UK, using traditional Ayurvedic ingredients, natural botanic extracts and clinically proven actives to help maintain skin’s natural balance.

Belief in the value of nature means valuing plants as nature intended – all products are free from genetically modified ingredients, artificial colours, mineral oil, parabens and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS).

Recycling is like karma; what goes around comes around, so all Urban Veda packaging is recyclable and the bottles are made out of post-consumer recycled plastic. Proud of their sourcing provenance, all Urban Veda cartons are Forest Sustainability Certified.

THE INGREDIENTS

Each Urban Veda product is certified as ‘vegan’ by The Vegetarian Society, and as a holistic brand, they never test on animals. The four Urban Veda ranges are made with natural, Ayurvedic ingredients, and each range has a different key ingredient. The Purifying range contains antibacterial cold-pressed neem oil, the Radiance range contains anti-inflammatory turmeric, the Soothing range contains balancing sandalwood, and the Reviving range contains replenishing rose. Each product also contains arjuna, which is an Ayurvedic herb to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

THE RANGES

There are four Urban Veda ranges: Purifying (for oily and breakout-prone skin), Radiance (for dehydrated and dull skin), Soothing (for sensitive skin) and Reviving (for dry and mature skin). As well as different skin types, each range is designed to suit the different ‘doshas’ in Ayurveda. This is the Ayurvedic term to describe the physical and emotional tendencies in the mind and body. The Purifying range is best suited to kapha types, The Radiance range is vest suited to vata types, the Soothing range is best suited to pitta types, and the Reviving range is tri-doshic and suitable for all three doshas.
