If you’ve left getting yourself physically and mentally prepared for some serious beach relaxation to the very last minute don’t worry, there’s still time to thoroughly de-stress pre-flight. Our tips can you help you to feel your best with only 24 hours to spare.
24 hours:
Get a good night’s rest. We’ve spoken several times about the benefits of sleep and nothing will have you feeling more prepared to take on the stresses of the airport carousel than a full night of sleep.
10 hours:
Do a HIIT workout. It won’t take long so you can fit it in between last minute runs to the pharmacy for sun cream but it can boost your energy, speeding up your metabolism and getting your blood pumping.
5 hours:
Combat packing stress with a pre-flight massage. A deep tissue massage the day before you fly can not only help you to relax but it may in fact even re-energise you so you can be raring to get to the airport.
2 hours:
Stop eating salty snacks. Sodium is known to bloat you so stay away from anything with large amounts of salt from now until you touchdown. Instead try to eat as many raw fruit and vegetables as you can, and be sure to keep hydrated with plenty of water.
1 hour:
Take arnica. This anti-inflammatory plant remedy may reduce any puffiness your body may have, so if you panicked and ate a salty cheeseburger while you were waiting to get to the gate this will help to relieve any swollenness your face may be showing.
