What you’ll need to bring

  • Massage table
  • Disposable table cover
  • Consultation forms
  • Smartphone (iOS or Android)
  • Smart, professional clothing or Urban-branded top (optional)
  • Products from an approved skincare brand
    (Clients provide towels, so no need to bring your own.)

Want to use something not listed? Send an email to info@urban.co and we’ll review it.

If you offer multiple brands, always give the client a choice, but avoid mixing products from different brands in one treatment.

Products you’ll need per facial type

You can bring extras (like a steamer) if you’d like, but every treatment needs the basics below. 

Youth boost

Focus: Radiance and anti-ageing
Key ingredients: Vitamin C, retinol, collagen, glycolic acid
Order of products:

  1. Cleanser(s)
  2. Chemical or enzyme exfoliator
  3. Massage cream
  4. Face mask (collagen, firming or sheet mask)
  5. Toner
  6. Serum or brightener
  7. Moisturiser

Deep cleanse

Focus: Congestion and breakouts
Key ingredients: Salicylic acid, niacinamide, tea tree, retinol
Order of products:

  1. Cleanser(s)
  2. Optional steam (if available)
  3. Chemical or enzyme exfoliator
  4. Toner
  5. Massage cream
  6. Clay or cream mask
  7. Toner
  8. Serum
  9. Moisturiser

Hydrating facial

Focus: Dry or dull skin
Key ingredients: AHA, vitamin C, peptides, coenzyme Q10
Order of products:

  1. Cleanser(s)
  2. Exfoliator (chemical or enzyme)
  3. Massage cream
  4. Clay mask
  5. Toner
  6. Sheet mask
  7. Eye cream
  8. Moisturiser

Express 25

Focus: Tailored to client’s needs
Order of products:

  1. Cleanser(s)
  2. Exfoliator (chemical or enzyme)
  3. Mask
  4. Toner
  5. Moisturiser

Pregnancy glow

Focus: Safe hydration and glow
Important: Avoid unsafe ingredients like retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroquinone, benzoyl peroxide, formaldehyde, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, some chemical sunscreen ingredients

Order of products:

  1. Cleanser
  2. Mechanical exfoliator (granule-based)
  3. Mask
  4. Toner
  5. Moisturiser

Qualifications you’ll need

You need to be a fully qualified beauty therapist with at least an NVQ Level 2 in beauty therapy. Short facial courses aren’t accepted
