I’m having issues with my GPS – what should I do?
If your location isn’t updating properly, it can affect how many bookings you receive. Here’s how to keep your GPS running smoothly on both iPhone and Android.
For all devices
To make sure clients see where you are and you’re shown for nearby bookings, check these settings:
- Update your app and phone software – Always use the latest version
- Turn on location services – Make sure the Urban Pro app has permission to access your location at all times
- Watch out for battery-saving settings – These can limit background location tracking
If you’re using an iPhone:
- Keep Low Power Mode off – It can stop the GPS from working properly
- Don’t force-quit the app – Swiping up to close it also stops GPS. If you do, just reopen it and tap the home button to minimise.
- Open the app after restarting your phone – Location tracking won’t restart automatically, so open the app at least a few hours before work
If you’re using Android:
- Disable battery-saving settings – These often block GPS in the background.
- Check app permissions – Make sure the app can always access your location.
If you’re using a Huawei phone:
Huawei devices can be extra strict with battery settings, which may block GPS. Try the following:
- Add the Urban Pro app as a protected app
- Turn off any energy-saving or battery optimisation settings
These Huawei models are known to have GPS issues:
- Android 6: Nova, P8, Mate S, Honor 6, 7, 6 Plus
- Android 7: Mate 9, P9, Honor 8
