London Fashion Week starts today and a whirlwind of over 90 fashion shows and presentations are about to leave fashion editors and celebrities alike feeling like they need some R&R. While London Fashion Week is closed to the public, there are plenty of relaxing fashion-related events taking place in London that are open for anyone to attend. Carnaby Fashion Festival
Head to the West End between the 21st and 24st September for fashion talks, workshops and freebies at Carnaby Street’s Fashion Festival. Nearly all of the shops along the street will be holding special events across the four day period. Highlight include donut glazing and free monogramming of purchases at Sweaty Betty and make-up masterclasses with complimentary goodie bags and drinks from Chandon at Benefit. Nothing says relaxation like retail therapy.

The reTreat
From the 15-19th September, Jaime Lang and his sweet brand Candy Kittens have taken over Covent Garden Grind, transforming it into a pop-up store that will help you escape the chaos of London Fashion Week. There will be complimentary nail treatments from Shoreditch, braids by AMBA and of course, massages from Urban Massage, as well as industry talks, yoga workshops and special guest appearances.

The Berkeley Prêt-à-Portea
Taking afternoon tea is one of most British ways to unwind, and at The Berkeley you can indulge your sweet tooth in true fashion week style with their Prêt-à-Portea. The menu features cakes inspired by spring/summer 2017 catwalk creations, including Emilio Pucci’s colour-blocked jumpsuit reimagined as a caramelised pineapple compote and Mulberry’s Pembroke bag in a Valrhona ivoire chocolate-glazed cake. Take tea for £52 per person.

The Residence at John Lewis
Opening this Saturday, the Residence will be the UK’s first ever in-store apartment. John Lewis flagship stores will inviting be customers to move into the apartment for the night completely free. Guests will be able choose to their own beauty products, pillows and scents to use during their overnight stay. They’ll also be allowed to host a fully catered dinner party for up to 10 people. Winners be selected at random, apply in store to be entered into the ballot.
