- DECORATE IT
A tree isn’t just for December. In Germany they traditionally bring in a few cut branches from a spring shrub and decorate it with Easter goodies. Just fill a vase with a few furry-budded branches from a pussy willow tree. Find it growing wild, buy from a florist or you can fake it at Not on the High Street. Far more chic than a fir.
- DYE IT
If you’ve got little ones at home then you’ll probably need something to help wear off that initial Sunday morning sugar buzz. The answer? Put down some newspaper and get their creative juices flowing. All you need is 120 ml of boiling water, a teaspoon of vinegar, 20 drops of food colouring and some hard-boiled eggs. Just dip the egg in the dye on a slotted spoon for five minutes then sit on a wire rack to dry. Egg-cellent.

Easter might be all about the kids, but if you’re fancying a more grown-up treat then you might want to get your Easter calories in liquid form. Add vodka, white crème de cacao, an egg, vanilla cream and sugar syrup to a chilled shaker, strain into a martini glass and then garnish with nutmeg and chocolate shavings. Practically medicinal.
